Foursquare leaders are responding with compassion to the needs of people affected by the magnitude-7.2 earthquake in the eastern Turkish province of Van in October and the magnitude-5.7 quake there last week. The two quakes have cost nearly 1,000 people their lives and thousands are now homeless in a region experiencing an unusually cold November.

Foursquare Turkey national leader Ihsan Ozbek says the Foursquare Church in Turkey has delivered a truckload of clothes, shoes, food, water, diapers, and hygienic supplies to the area. Foursquare Turkey together with the Turkey Evangelical Alliance is establishing a kitchen that will feed up to 2,000 people a day. Other needs will no doubt surface as the recovery continues and the prayers and donations of the global Foursquare Church are needed now.
