Bangladesh Flooding

As of this update, more than 100 children have died from dehydration and the food crisis following serious flooding in Bangladesh. Benjamin, Foursquare’s national leader in Bangladesh, and Wayne, our South Asia area missionary (last names withheld due to security), say that people from over 60 Foursquare churches have been impacted. They request financial help to purchase food, clothing, clean water and other essentials for our families.

Overall, an estimated 600,000 people in Bangladesh have suffered damage to their homes or been displaced. Churches, non-government organizations (NGOs) and the Bangladesh government are currently meeting about 20% of the needs, mostly focused on cities. As resources allow, Foursquare Bangladesh hopes to minister to the needs of the remaining 80% of affected people in the rural and remote areas of the country.
